this is the result of a cooperative project made with my students of 4th grade.
The activity is called "Co-op jigsaw" ( II), explained by Doctor Spencer kagan.
The process is as it follows:
1st) , I have established base groups. The students of each group have worked on a different topic through the four seasons: for example, one group found out about the clothes in the 4 different seasons, another group did the same with the food. The third group did the same with the festivities and sports and the fourth group made the research about the weather of each season .
2nd) Once they have compiled all the information, I have regrouped my students in a different way creating Expert groups. Each expert group have worked trough all the different topics ( food, weather, sports...) focusing in one season. So, one group worked all the aspects in Summer, another represented Spring, another one was Winter and the last one had to work all the aspects in Autumn.
3rd) In this way they have learned about one topic specially and they have learned about the rest of the topics by working in one season .
